Important Information Document

1. TIMING OF EVENT & ENTRY

All people attending our event will need to enter the venue through the Gaelic Park Main Gate. The Serbian Centre car park will not be open. $15 will be charged for each adult @ the GP gate. Kids entry is free.

N.B - A note for all team’s bus entry – it will make entry to Gaelic Park very quick if one person on the bus can collect all $15 entry fee for every player and then when the bus gets to the main entrance at GP gate one person can do a bulk bank transfer via EFTPOS.

Games will be starting at 8:00 am sharp so we’ll be opening the gates from 7.15 am for those that want to get down and warm up! Please arrive earlier than you previously might have to get prepared.

The last game of the day will start at 6.00 pm and presentations will take place immediately after this. Don’t worry we’ll keep you entertained with live music and a stocked bar throughout the day.

2. INSURANCE  

Players participating in the tournament must be registered with GFHAA & Gaelic Games Victoria (GGV) via Foireann to be covered under the insurance scheme provided to the clubs from GGV. Any queries regarding the scheme or the level of cover should be directed to GGV. 

3. RULE UPDATES

On finishing a game, the two departing teams MUST provide 2 people to act as officials for the following game. Failure to do so will result in a point deducted from their overall points score. Total officials to cover 4 x umpires.

4. GP CLUBHOUSE, DRESSING ROOMS AND TOILETS

For the main Gaelic Park Clubhouse and Hall area, note no player, manager or any people involved with a club team is to have football boots inside the bar, lounge or hall areas, this is non-negotiable. 

The dressing rooms are fine to have them on.

There are 6 dressing rooms at Gaelic Park. These will be in use – 3 x male & 3 x female. Showers will also be in use.  We ask that players be quick while using the facilities. These will be labelled which is women and which is men.

No gear will be allowed to remain in the changing rooms. Players are responsible for keeping their gear with them throughout the day. The organising committee takes no responsibility for loss or damage to valuables at the tournament.

5. CLEANERS AND BINS

Full-time cleaners will be used for the tournament, please put all rubbish into the bins provided, especially pitch-side.

6. TEAM TENTS/SHELTER/GAZEBOS

We advise all clubs to bring down multiple gazebos for their playing teams to help provide shade/club hub throughout the day. These can be set up at Pitch 1 and Pitch 2 at Gaelic Park – refer to the event map where the location areas are marked to set up club gazebos.

7. FIRST AID & PHYSIO

A full-time Physio will be at the event for the whole day. This location will be marked out on the event map. There will also be two full-time First Aiders appointed for the day.  One will cover the games at Gaelic Park, and one will cover the games at the Serbian Centre. There will be a nursing room for mothers and children to use if needed.

In the case of an emergency please do not hesitate to call emergency services.

The defibrillator will be located with the Physio.

8. GAME SCORES

We will have a full-time person updating the live scoreboard online on the day as matches progress. A live link will be shared with clubs.

9. FOOD/COFFEE

Food will be provided all day by Jimmy O’Neill’s. There will also be a coffee van on site from 7.30 am – 1 pm.

10. WATER

Please ensure each player brings and uses their water bottle for the day. If you need to refill your bottle of water, there is a water tap outside close to the main clubhouse.

11. BAR & ALCOHOL

Gaelic Park bar will be open all day. Alcohol may only be purchased from the Gaelic Park Bar due to liquor licence laws. Strictly NO alcohol can be brought into the Gaelic Park. No players or spectators will be allowed to bring alcohol from Gaelic Park Bar to the Serbian Centre – this is strictly prohibited. All alcohol purchased at Gaelic Park must be consumed on the premises.

A selection of soft drinks, Magners cider, cans and spirits will be available. Drinks will only be provided in plastic glasses.

External cans/alcohol will be confiscated.

12. AFTER PARTY VENUES

Garryowen Club has booked the Cross in St Kilda to continue the after festivities from 9.00 pm on Sunday and all clubs are welcome to join.

13. CONTACTLESS EVENT

The Garryowen 9’s is promoting a contactless event for the safety of our volunteers. It is preferred that people pay by card via our EFTPOS terminals.

Note the main bar at GP will only have EFTPOS set up as payment.
